Best Turrets for Your First Hour

Early game is about maximizing total wall DPS with whatever you can afford. Do not chase high rarities — fill slots first, then upgrade individual positions.

Keep These Commons

Your free Pea Shooter and any purchased Rust Cannons serve as wall filler until you roll Uncommon replacements. Keep them placed until you have something better for that specific slot.

Target These on First Rolls

When you start rolling, these are the turrets that provide the biggest early-game impact:

  • Laser Pod (Uncommon) — Piercing damage covers more of the lane. Best first roll target.
  • Spike Guard (Uncommon) — Bleed damage adds sustained DPS at choke points.
  • Brain Blaster (Rare) — If you get lucky, this is your first wall centerpiece.
  • Toxic Sprayer (Rare) — Poison stacking pays off over longer sessions.

When to Stop Using Early Turrets

Replace all Commons once you have four or more Uncommons. Replace Uncommons once your wall has two or more Rares. By the time you have Epics, no Common or Uncommon should remain in your active wall.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I keep my free Pea Shooter?
Yes, until you roll an Uncommon or better to replace it. Never leave the slot empty.
What is the best first roll?
Laser Pod (Uncommon) for range coverage, or Brain Blaster (Rare) if you get lucky. Any Uncommon+ is worth keeping.
How many turrets before I start rolling?
Fill at least four slots with Commons before spending on rolls. Six slots filled is ideal.
